Abstract

Diversity can not be avoided in Indonesia. Pluralism then became an important issue in the State which naturally arose from a variety of different elements. We tip of the island to the borders of Indonesia-Papua New Guinea, Indonesia is very diverse population in terms of ethnicity, religion, race, education level, up to the level of welfare of its citizens. Unlike the European countries whose territory the relative width of one of the 33 provinces in Indonesia. Considering the above then pluralism becomes a never-ending lesson to continue to be transmitted. Therefore, this paper carries the theme "Celebrating Pluralism by Mochtar Lubis Award". This paper tries to unravel how the Mochtar Lubis Award in the spirit of pluralism rewards the best journalistic work. Looking at the matter, the mass media with the speed expected to reach its full potential as an agent of change. Aside from being a business institution, the media has a moral weight as the bearer of social responsibility. In a study of good corporate governance, the media is 'one of forming slices of good corporate governance. Successful governance is a government that is supported by pillars of the social responsibility of mass media. This paper is collected from various literature studies to the works of journalism which was awarded by Mochtar Lubis Award and also how the figure of Mochtar Lubis, who became a role model in the world of journalism in Indonesia. Benefrts to be gained is more and more journalists who can be motivated and inspired by the works of the best journalism of the nation through the Mochtar Lubis Award.
