Abstract
Definisi laswell yang menyatakan, who says what, to whom, through what channel, and with what effect, menjadi definisi awal komunikasi massa yang menyajikan urutan proses komunikasi bersifat linear. Namun secara perkembangan, telah ada penambahan peran yang lebih besar kepada komunikator, seperti halnya peristiwa dan suara-suara masyarakat (events and ‘voices’ in society), saluran/peran komunikator (channel/ communicator role), pesan, dan penerima dalam sebuah komunikasi massa itu
