Abstract
This paper investigates the effect of internal company policy in giving discount and raising product's price. The discount which is about 2, 5% is given in August and September, whereas the product's price is raised every January. In order to know whether giving discount and raising the price influence the number of sales, transfer function method is employed. It is known from identification stage that the sales data follows ARIMA ([2], 1, 0) model The result of the transfer function model analysis shows that giving discount has no significant impact, while raising the price has a meaningful effect. The final model obtained from this study is: Yt= exp (Zt-1 - 0,0002675 (X2t - X2t-1)- 0,25089 (Zt-2 zt-3) + at). Apart from the model, forecasting for the next jive months is also provided for the purpose of company's management planning.
