Abstract

Hasil pertanian dan perkebunan merupakan salah satu sumber devisa bagi negara agraris Indonesia. Salah satu hasil perkebunan di Indonesia yang banyak diekspor ke pasar internasional adalah teh. Teh merupakan salah satu minuman yang banyak dikonsumsi di seluruh penjuru dunia yang memberikan pengaruh baik bagi kesehatan tubuh karena adanya kandungan senyawa polifenol. Teh berasal dari tanaman Camelia sinensis dan dibedakan menjadi 4 jenis yaitu teh putih, teh hijau, teh oolong, dan teh hitam. Perbedaan dari jenis teh ini adalah pada proses pengolahannya. Jenis teh utama yang diproduksi oleh PTPN XII (PERSERO) Kebun Wonosari adalah teh hitam. Pemilihan teh hitam sebagai jenis teh utama, didasarkan pada permintaan pasar untuk ekspor yang cukup tinggi. Faktor-faktor yang menentukan mutu teh hitam antara lain bahan baku, RH dan suhu lingkungan, proses pengolahan, bahan pengemas yang digunakan, serta kondisi tempat penyimpanan produk teh hitam. Selain teh hitam, PTPN XII (PERSERO) Kebun Wonosari juga memproduksi teh putih dalam jumlah yang sedikit.
