Abstract

Penelitian ini akan menguji pengaruh nilai perusahaan, profitabilitas, pertumbuhan, biaya R&D dan aset tetap terhadap hutang pada perusahaan manufaktur terdaftar pada Bursa Efek Indonesia periode 2010-2014. Dengan menggunakan metode regresi data panel, yang selanjutnya diketahui bahwa metode yang lebih cocok untuk menguji hipotesis adalah dengan pendekatan fixed effect. Dari pendekatan tersebut diketahui bahwa nilai perusahaan dan profitabilitas berpengaruh negatif terhadap hutang, sejalan dengan teori pecking order yang mementingkan kesejahteraan pemegang saham. Sedangkan pertumbuhan dan aset tetap berpengaruh positif terhadap hutang. Pada penelitian ini pula diketahui bahwa biaya R&D tidak berpengaruh terhadap hutang karena sifatnya yang tertulis sebagai biaya pada laporan keuangan tahunan sehingga perusahaan cenderung tidak memakai huatng dalam pembiayaannya.
