Abstract
Some students like reading but some others do not. Most of them say the same reason why they do not like it. It takes a lot of time if they read a passage. The purpose of this research is to see the reading achievement of second grade students of junior high school. The research question is: How is the second grade students of junior high school reading achievement? The design was quantitative and non-experimental study. The subjects of this study were 71 students of grade two at Junior High School. The instrument of this study was a reading test made by the researcher herself. The result of this study was that the mean of reading test score was 71 meanwhile the standard of the school was 75. The second grade students of junior high school had low scores at the Inferential Comprehension and Appreciation levels.
