Abstract
Ibuprofen is a propionic acid phenyl derivatives have is an anti inflammatory, analgesic and antipiretic agent. Ibuprofen is often used to use repeatedly in a day and if the use of excessive doses over a long period can cause gastrointestinal disturbances. This study was aimed to determine whether there are differences in picture comparisons between the macroscopic and microscopic gastric administration of ibuprofen and paracetamol-ibuprofen combination. This study is an experimental research using Post Test Randomized Controlled Group Design. As much as 18 male wistar rats, were used and divided into 3 groups of eighteen : control group, group of ibuprofen 200mg/kgBW and group of Paracetamol-Ibuprofen 350- 200mg/kgBW orally for 7 days. Then , on the 8th days, the rats were sacrificied by cervical dislocation and gastric organ were taken for observation macroscopic and microscopic with hematoxylin eosin staining. The obtained data were analyzed by Kruskal Wallis test followed by Mann Whitney, with the significant. The results showed that the number of ulcer index of control group is 2.00, ibuprofen is 8.16 and Paracetamol-Ibuprofen is 7.00. The study concluded that the effect of a combination of paracetamol-ibuprofen reducing peptic ulcers of macroscopic and microscopic in rats lower than ibuprofen.
