Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic period triggered many problems in almost all fields, especially the economic and cultural fields. Changes in the economic field trigger the emergence of new things in terms of communication and information technology. PPKM implemented by the government has spurred the rise of online shopping among women, in this case the informants as members of KOMPPAS in Dolly Surabaya. Even though income is getting worse, the need to exist is the main thing. KOMPPAS members, mostly Pedia (prostituted women) or sex workers, have a need to beautify themselves to attract guests or customers. By using the case study method and conducting in-depth interviews and FGDs. The results of the study showed that the first time the pandemic made them do online shopping more often, secondly online shopping triggered the informants to become consumptive, due to competition among Pedila, thirdly, the informants were increasingly trapped in debt by loan sharks. .
