Abstract

The purpose of this study was to: 1) provide empirical evidence of the influence of the leadership practices in terms of servant leadership approach and its influence on employee engagement and OCB teacher; 2) provide empirical evidence of the impact of the OCB employee engagement and employee performance (in this case the teacher performance); 3) prove OCB impact on teacher performance, both directly and through employee engagement as mediating. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method that is research taking samples from a population using a questionnaire as a data collection tool. Primary data collection is done by cross-sectional study using questionnaires. Respondents in this study are permanent teachers from 27 high schools and private vocational schools in the Madiun City and Madiun District. A total of 417 questionnaires were returned questionnaires and questionnaires that can be used amounted to 319 questionnaires. To test the hypothesis of partial effect, the test equipment used is the t-test and for testing mediating hypothesis, tested by causal step. This study used the technique of simple linear regression analysis and multiple linear regression analysis, which is processed by using SPSS version 18. The 6th hypothesis proposed in the study is acceptable so that it can be concluded that: 1) the practice of leadership in terms of servant leadership approach is a positive and significant impact on employee engagement and OCB on permanent teachers; 2) Employee engagement is a positive and significant effect on OCB and teacher performance; 3) OCB positive and significant impact on teacher performance; 4) Employee engagement and OCB fully mediated the relationship between servant leadership and teacher performance.
