Abstract

This research is a vocabulary content in a Cambridge textbook entitled "Guess What! Level 6" for sixth-grade students in an Elementary School. This study aims to analyze the presentation of the vocabulary listed in textbooks. Conducted with a qualitative research method and uses an assessment rubric adapted from the BSNP (Badan Standar Nasional Pendidikan) which has been checked for eligibility by validators, which will then be assessed by the triangulator and the researcher herself. The findings reveal that in presenting the vocabulary, this book explains explicitly through pictures and illustrations to explain what the vocabulary means. This book explains vocabulary through audio and visual of each vocabulary listed in the book. This research shows that the Cambridge textbook: Guess What! Level 6 is acceptable for sixth-grade student learning because based on the assessment rubric adapted from BNSP, the triangulator and the researcher only found a few minor scores in several categories in the presentation of vocabulary, which means that this book meets the component requirements listed in the BNSP.
