Abstract

Textbook is one of the media used in English language learning. A great number of English textbook evaluation have been done to find the most suitable textbook for English language teaching. This research aims to know how does English on Sky meet the standards of the feasibility of content based on 2013 curriculum according to BNSP. This research used a descriptive method in a qualitative approach. The data in this study were analysed by using content analysis technique. The data resource was the textbook of English on Sky for the seventh grade of junior high school published by Erlangga. Data obtained in this research is the results of the assessment in the form of a score frequency. And the findings shown, that only 37 out of 72 criteria required had fulfilled the criteria in 2013 curriculum. Which means in this textbook, 51.40% of materials in the “English on Sky” textbook are still acceptable but needs more consideration in use. The consideration is dominated in the diversity of insight criteria. The implication from this research can be felt by the teacher, further publisher of the textbook. Based on the strength and weakness of the textbook teacher can be more particular in using a textbook. In addition, for the further research this research can be used as a guidance for doing the research in the same field. For the textbook writer the findings from the research can be source for the further textbook revision.
