Abstract

In the era that forces us to stay at home, I tended to learn separated using online platform with my peers. However, I need to have well-prepared teaching strategies in order for students to grasp better English learning via online. I never experienced it until Micro Teaching Course appeared. Micro Teaching is one of the courses at the English Language Education Study Program, Widya Mandala Surabaya Catholic University, that every student must take. It provides me with the ability to practice with my students using different methods and techniques based on the skills used in teaching demonstrations that they have learnt in the previous semester. It is a place with lots of teaching experience that can be gained for students who will be a teacher in the future. Using Narrative Inquiry in my research made me realized that experience happened in the past always had its meaning or objectives in every event of situation. By going back to the experience happened, I realized that I did a lot of effort in my teaching demonstration. Preparing the material used, selecting the media correctly, analyzing each method of the acitivity used was very important in gaining the effective teaching athmosphere. By the time of doing the teaching demonstrations, the feedbacks and discussions from my lecturer and friends affected me to improve better. Sharing about the experiences of each online tools and the management of how to conduct the teaching activity in a good order were the ways to support my peer-teaching.
