Abstract

This study was conducted to know the role of picture series technique in improving the students’ speaking ability. The writer used library research as the design. In this study, the writer collected the data in form of journals, thesis and other sources that related to the role of picture series technique in improving the students’ speaking ability. The writer collected the data, analyze and summarize to know the result, design, subject and instrument of each data. From all the data collected showed that, picture series technique successfully improved the students’ speaking ability. Moreover, picture series technique is interesting and make the atmosphere in the classroom more alive and students are happy to join the learning activity. Furthermore, picture series technique makes the students actively participated in the learning activity and make the students become more confident to practice their speaking. Therefore, picture series is an effective media for teaching speaking.
