Abstract

Every novel has a particular message presented by the author. Some of the novelist’s thought or ideas are transformed through the sequences of the story .A novel develops a theme which is one of the best ways to express moral and social thoughts.The writer wants to show the readers about the moral values that are found in different social stratification class by the main character ‘Oliver Twist’.This study is categorized into literary analysis and this research is using a mimetic approach. The writer utilized the documentation method in collecting the data while in data analysis the writer used studying, organizing and taking notes technique. After analyzing the novel ‘Oliver Twist’, the writer took some conclusions which the moral values as related to the social stratification as reflected by the main character are honesty, bravery,sympathetic to the others, and sincerity. Finally, after finding out the moral values as related to the social stratification class, the writer has some suggestions for other researchers.The writer suggests to the next researcher to take part of sociological approach especially in morality on the society and to know more about social stratification class in society.
