Abstract

Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk menguji pengaruh lonjakan investasi terhadap kecepatan penyesuaian struktur modal optimal dalam prespektif dinamis. Metode yang digunakan adalah Generalized Method of Moment (GMM). Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 36 perusahaan dalam industri manufaktur yang tercatat pada Bursa Efek Indonesia selama periode 2010–2016. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa struktur modal optimal dipengaruhi oleh karakteristik perusahaan. Industri Manufaktur di Indonesia terbukti melakukan penyesuaian struktur modal optimal dengan speed of adjustment sekitar 1.5 tahun. Efek dari lonjakan investasi mengubah struktur modal perusahaan dan menyebabkan speed of adjustment menjadi lambat yaitu sekitar 3.8 tahun. Perilaku perusahaan dalam menyesuaikan struktur modal sebagai akibat dari adanya lonjakan investasi sangat bervariasi, tergantung dari kondisi financial constraint, investment opportunity, earning volatility, dan profitability.
